Secular but Spiritual

A brief list of some songs I know that are secular but nevertheless touch on spiritual matters:

Love's Divine - Seal
Heaven - Los Lonely Boys
Lord, Is it Mine? - Supertramp
The Heart of the Matter - Don Henley
The Big Wheel - Rush
Roll The Bones - Rush
One- U2
Mission - Rush

These are justa few that occur to me off the top of my head. Any one have any others they think should be on the list, leave a comment.

"I'm Scared" Burton Cummings
"Carry on My Wayward Son" Kansas (supposedly this one is about the apostle Paul)

Hmmm. How about "Smack Ma Bi#ch Up" by Prodigy?

Actually, "Long As I Can See The Light" by CCR. Thats a good one.

Check out Mike Scott - used to be the lead singer of the Waterboys. He put out an album with a lot of Christian-like themes.

There's also a lot of Echo and the Bunnymen stuff that would fit in that category.

And that's just the beginning...

I was still thinking about these type songs and recently made a U2 mix chock full of spiritually relevant gems. I think the one that stands out most is Until the End Of The World from Achtung Baby. It is speaking quite definitley about Judas' confused state of mind during the time right before Christ's crucifixion.

"Last time we met was a low lit room, we was close together as a bride and groom, we ate the food, drank the wine, everybody havin a good time, except you, you were talkin about the end of the world."
"In the garden I was playing the tart, I kissed your lips and broke your heart, and you, you were acting like it was the end of the world"

Just a couple of lyrics from this very cool tune.

By the way Jordo, I believe Lake of Fire is a Meat Puppets cover.
